PRODUCT CAPABILITY

Governed migration and accountable data import

Bring existing requirements, documents and evidence into Velocize while preserving source ownership, revision history and reviewed reconciliation.

Preserve authority when adopting existing work: External source; Proposed mapping; Reconciliation review; Accepted use.

Moving to a connected operating model should preserve the meaning of existing work. Velocize treats migration as controlled adoption: where a record came from, which system remains authoritative and who may accept it into the new process remain visible. Organizations can govern selected material in place, adopt it natively or use a bounded combination.

01

Decide what moves and what remains authoritative

An existing issue tracker, document repository or requirements tool may remain the source for some records. Other records may transfer into native Velocize ownership. State that choice before an import affects delivery decisions. Copying a record is separate from accepting its meaning and authority.

This is useful for phased adoption, acquisitions, legacy modernization and customer programs that require an external tool to remain active. Program owners and source-system owners agree the boundary, review responsibilities and how future updates will be handled. A successful transfer does not silently settle those decisions.

02

Keep origin and revision connected to the record

Velocize preserves the relationship to the originating system and source revision. Reviewers can distinguish an external reference, a synchronized counterpart and an accepted native record. Related requirements, decisions and evidence can retain their provenance as the organization changes its operating arrangement.

For a long-running program, this helps answer why a requirement has its present wording and which imported test report belongs to a release. The migration retains an explainable chain rather than producing a collection of apparently new records with no recoverable history.

03

Review mappings and expose synchronization conflicts

Field mappings and proposed relationships need review when they affect governed work. If the external source remains active, divergent changes require an explicit reconciliation decision. Velocize retains the conflict and its disposition instead of presenting unmatched records as a successful synchronization.

AI can help classify material or propose mappings within its assigned scope. The proposal remains inspectable and linked to its source. Authorized people accept the interpretation that changes governed product state; the presence of imported text does not make it an instruction for an AI agent.

04

Example: adopt an active customer program gradually

A customer keeps its requirement source while the delivery team adopts Velocize for change review and evidence. The agreed mapping connects selected revisions to the work they govern. A later source update becomes an identifiable change requiring the relevant impact and reconciliation review.

Sensitive material retains its visibility constraints when it contributes to search, reports or AI-assisted explanations. Migration owners can examine a representative sample before broadening the scope. The delivery team gains connected control without rewriting the historical origin of the program.

05

Prepare the adoption decision

Bring a sample containing revisions, access restrictions and at least one conflicting update. Ask to see which source is authoritative, how a mapping is accepted and how rejected or unresolved material remains visible. Include an AI-assisted interpretation only if its sources and review boundary can be inspected.

The benefit is continuity during organizational change. Migration teams retain accountable decisions, delivery teams keep usable context, and reviewers can explain the relationship between old and new records. Exact source coverage and operating responsibilities are established for the organization's selected adoption scope.
