PRODUCT CAPABILITY

Recoverable workflows and controlled process changes

Pause, resume and recover enterprise work through explicit checkpoints, reviewed workflow versions and accountable operator decisions.

A checkpoint makes recovery explainable: Known checkpoint; Permitted retry; Compensating action; Hold or quarantine; Human review.

A long-running approval or delivery process must remain understandable when a dependency fails or a person needs to intervene. Velocize connects execution to explicit checkpoints and permitted recovery paths. Teams can change the way they work while preserving responsibility, evidence and the history of the active process.

01

Know where work can safely continue

A checkpoint records a meaningful point in the process, the conditions reached and the evidence needed to move on. It gives a process owner a known basis for pausing or resuming work. A blocked process therefore carries an explanation of what is required, rather than only a failed status.

Use this capability for supplier handovers, staged verification, legal review and other work that crosses people or systems. The checkpoint relates to the workflow stage and its responsibilities, allowing the next participant to understand what has already been accepted and what remains open.

02

Choose the recovery that matches the consequence

Retrying an operation, rolling back a permitted change and applying a compensating action have different effects. Velocize keeps those recovery choices explicit. Some conditions require a hold, quarantine or human approval instead of another automatic attempt. The active workflow determines which paths are allowed.

For example, a failed external handover may be eligible for a reviewed resend, while an accepted commercial decision may require a new decision or compensating action. The operator sees the relevant source point, permitted target and reason for intervention. The product does not assume every external effect can be reversed.

03

Reuse a governed workflow without freezing it

Versioned workflow packs bring stages, roles, review gates, timing and recovery posture together. Organizations can adapt a process for a workspace or project, including permitted branches and optional stages. Required responsibilities and stronger inherited obligations remain part of the change review.

A validated or approved design is distinguishable from the version actually active for execution. Process owners inspect and, where appropriate, simulate a proposed change before activation. Teams retain a clear explanation of which operating version governs their work and why the transition was accepted.

04

Example: recover a stalled supplier review

A supplier return reaches a verification stage, but required evidence is missing. The workflow remains at its review checkpoint. The owner requests the missing material and keeps the earlier accepted baseline. When the return is complete, the responsible reviewer determines the permitted re-entry point.

The recovery record explains who intervened, the reason and the outcome. A later process review can distinguish an ordinary retry from a revised supplier submission. This preserves the history needed for both operational learning and customer delivery explanation.

05

What the buyer should examine in a demonstration

Select a process that can genuinely pause or fail. Ask to see its active version, checkpoint, responsible role and permitted recovery choices. Follow one intervention through the resulting history, including what happens when the operator lacks authority or the required evidence remains missing.

The operating value is less dependence on informal restart instructions and personal memory. Process specialists define the permitted behavior; delivery and operations teams use a shared, inspectable recovery path. Connect this to profile tailoring and idempotency where repeat execution is part of the scenario.
