TECHNICAL GUIDE / EXECUTION PROFILES

How can different teams use different execution profiles in one program?

Combine Kanban, sprint cadence and stronger assurance in scoped Velocize profiles while preserving shared decisions, evidence and handovers.

One program, several scoped working methods: Shared program; Sprint team; Kanban team; Assurance scope; Shared handovers.

An enterprise rarely works at one rhythm. Support may use continuous flow, a product team may plan in iterations and a regulated delivery may require stronger review. Velocize supports scoped profiles within one lifecycle foundation. The purpose is local fit with shared accountability, not unrelated processes that hide their dependencies. Profile scope and inherited obligations explain how each team participates in the same program.

01

1. Separate local cadence from shared commitments

A sprint boundary and a service restoration deadline represent different operating needs. Identify the common requirement, dependency and customer commitment that connect them. Local scheduling should not obscure who owns the handover.

Velocize allows Kanban flow and sprint timebox posture within scoped execution profiles. Shared records preserve the dependency between local work and program-level acceptance, so different cadences can remain visible without being forced into identical board states.

02

2. Resolve the effective profile at the boundary

State where the profile applies and which stronger organization or program obligations it inherits. A local team can add narrower review needs but cannot silently remove mandatory evidence or approval imposed by the wider context.

Velocize preserves profile activation, inheritance and explanation. At a cross-team handover, reviewers can inspect the effective requirements rather than assume that a locally completed task satisfies every receiving obligation.

03

3. Keep roles and evidence intelligible

The producing team supplies an outcome with its scope and proof. The receiving team determines whether it meets its acceptance conditions. Separate preparation, implementation, review and approval responsibilities even when the same permitted actor holds several roles.

Velocize’s role registry and evidence lineage connect those responsibilities. A source test report keeps the configuration it describes; an assurance review can request additional proof without rewriting the producing team’s history.

04

4. Tailor AI participation by context

Support triage may permit AI routing while a customer acceptance stage remains human-only. A jury can be optional in one workflow and required before human approval in another. The model does not choose which posture applies.

Velocize resolves AI actor assignment and escalation from the effective profile. Tenant-local disablement and mandatory human approval remain meaningful. A shared provider can assist different teams while the roles and authorized context remain separate.

05

5. Evaluate a cross-team handover

Follow an incident from a flow-based support team into a sprint-planned engineering change, then into a higher-assurance customer release. Inspect the owner, scope, evidence and required decision at each boundary. Ask how a later profile change affects work still open.

Velocize connects these local practices through the same requirements, decisions and evidence. The benefit is adaptable team operation with inspectable program continuity. The organization still defines its methods, reviews exceptions and determines whether the combined process is effective.
